Since 2017, Caisse des Dépôts has been issuing
green, social, and sustainable bonds. Unlike conventional bonds—which
finance an issuer’s general activities and debt refinancing—these instruments
specifically fund investments with environmental and/or social impacts.
Six Green, Social, or Sustainable Bonds
(GSSBs) are currently outstanding, issued between 2021 and 2025 with
maturities of 5 or 7 years. In Q4 2025, Caisse des Dépôts launched its
new short-term sustainable NEU CP (Negotiable European Commercial Paper)
program, executing 42 transactions under this format throughout the
year.
To issue GSSBs, Caisse des Dépôts adheres to
the Green Bond Principles (GBP) and Social Bond Principles
(SBP), market initiatives in which it is an active issuer member. These
frameworks establish best practices for such issuances. The institution’s principles
for these bonds are detailed in its framework document (latest
version dated July 3, 2025, available on the CDC portal). Key requirements
include investor reporting, ensuring transparency on both the financial
and extra-financial performance of the projects backed by the bonds.
This dataset details the asset class, the
reference (ISIN code or eligible portfolio), the reporting year, the reference
year (year of issuance or year of update of the eligible portfolio depending on
the approach), the number of assets, the invested amount, disbursements and
realized flows for the bond-by-bond approach, the average share of capital held
by CDC, the approach used, and the taxonomy-aligned amount (for green assets in
the eligible portfolio).
